Here goes some expressions of Ernie.
I did't get it right yet. I will keep practicing to understand the construction of his head and expressinos and before I jump to complex layouts with a lot of people.
I have a lot of illustrations to do for the next days, so I wont be able to post any study soon, but I am always trying to apply all the principles we study here in my personal work.
I loved the posts about Tex Avery in the JKstuff blog... and the ones about design too.
analisys of the shape:
-little cranium
-head and eyes stretched vertically
-cheeks streched horizontally
-triangular nose
-he has no chin

I think you are worrying too much about clean up
ReplyDeletealso be careful with angles
angles are ok, as long as they are in sensible paces and don't muck up the construction
make sure the eyes feel like they are following the planes of the head and not shifting off diagonally
fit the ear in space between the cheeks and in front of the cranium-those areas are all blending together in your drawings on a flat plane
you are still closing the negative spaces within the faces
Thank you very much for the critiques Pedro. It is very helpfull.
ReplyDeleteProfessor, I am drawing this expressions again and will be carefull to folow your adivices.
I will post them soon.
