I think it works. It helps a lot to be able to post here directly and be criticized by everyone instantaneously. Being studying Eisenberg helped me a lot. I drew the last Jerry's poses without looking at any picture, just trying Jerry in different poses, as John had been doing with Fox and Crow.
I can say that it was not difficult to draw these poses, it must be because I've becomed accustomed to pear and sphere construction. Of course I will continue practicing.I'm still having trouble with proportions, sillhouettes, etc, but I feel I've been advancing.
I second Geneva's sentiments. Definitely motivated, as well. When I see Davi post 3-4 studies at a time, I get intimidated. He's a machine. =) Everyone is so talented and focused that it brings a nice energy to the site.
Not sure if this happens to anyone else but when I see a post of say backgrounds or construction studies I think, hmm, should I be focusing on those more or continue with what I'm doing?
I find myself checking back on the blog through the day. I feel like everyone else is way ahead, but it brings out this competitive urge in me, in the nicest possible way.
I'll be honest, I'm really intimidated... but motivated!

Paul, I'm suggesting you get a Jerry model sheet and check the proportions and try some new poses with the correct proportions.
ReplyDeleteI think that this experience is great.
ReplyDeleteChris, usually I don't have time to do all this studies at once...
and I want to do as much as possible before I travel.
it is a lot better to study with more artists than only by our selfs.
Chris you said:

I also feel exactly like this.
I started to use the construction with blue after I saw your studies and I am trying to clean my line after I saw Paul's.
thank you.
