See I THOUGHT this drawing was OK, then it turns out I did the head too small, among other things. I think I percieved the rabbit as thin in the middle and small-headed, so I subtly and incorrectly exaggerated those things without realising.

In this one, I perceived him as standing more upright than he really was, so that's wrong. In fact he's more squashed and bent than I thought. Having said that, I exaggerated the inward curve of his lower back to almost compensate. Bad!

more soon.
Hi Chloe
ReplyDeletecan you upload the frame grabs too? I have one comment but I wanna draw over them a bit.
Hi John
ReplyDeleteHave posted original grabs. Apologies for absence of tortoise in my drawings.
I didn't so much exaggerate the curve of the back as just elongate the whole thing, I stretched him out.
ReplyDeleteWell your cartoon studies have improved vastly, Chloe. They are getting much more solid.
ReplyDeleteThere are a couple things I was going to critique about small wobbly parts, but I see they are in the original drawings anyway and you just exaggerated them a bit.
I'll show you a little later.
Keep doing these then I'll have a particular exercise for you.
To take my storyboard style scribbly roughs and redraw them with form.
Yeah I could see there were bits that were borderline wobbly, but wasn't sure how to go about correcting them. I'm glad I am actually improving. Thanks John
