hello everybody,

see you.

  1. the fingers are wrong.

the craniun of the cat and the nose of the shark are larger than Clampett's drawing.

  2. I think what you have done is great, at least you stretched the characters MORE into their poses (cat stretched up, shark leaning forward) instead of toning them down.

  3. Ok...

let me try to explain what I am trying to do with my studies (and why I am doing so many in a short period of time).. and some one please help me with a solution :)

my English is not the best... so if something sounds weird you tell me and I will try again.

It is the first time I am coping cartoons like this, I began after the "cartoon college post".

I want to paint them, but I don't want to do it at once... I want to understand the construction and grayscale of the composition first and later paint the pictures.
I think that it will be easer to think about the composition of the colors if I know where the light and the shadows are... so I practice with the gray... it is just the way I am used to.

    should I try something different??

I am drawing a lot in this days because I wont be able to draw next month.. I am moving from Brazil to France (to live there for a couple of years) in the begin of september.

it will take a while until I set up in my new appartement and buy everything that I need before I go back to my work and studies.

I will travel around for two weeks before I get in France it will be very hard to practice.

that is why I am doing a lot of studies now.

I am learning a lot these last days.

it is very good to be part of this group :)

    thank you for all...

  4. Davi,

I've been meaning to say this since a few posts ago, but I really like what you've been doing with value. You are a much better painter than I am so you probably know like I do that value is a really good starting point for painting. I think you'll do really well copying background paintings and applying what you can find to your own drawings. You're already so darn fast!

You are very good with value. :)

  6. value, value, value (we use "valor" in Portuguse)... that is a word that will help me to explain my exercises in the future, THANKS Geneva.

I used to do a lot of "BORING" reallistic illustrations for money when I was younger, that gave me some skills and speed...
but this experience doesn't help a lot with all the principles that we are studing and I am just beggining to understand.

I am going to live in Paris Anne... do you want to go? I will probably share a very small place with a friend, but you will be always welcame :)

    thanks again for all.
