Jerry poses, and Howie Post color do-overs

I tried my hand at some Jerry poses, after studying the model sheets. model sheet copies.

I know these poses aren't really revolutionary in the field of mouse poses, but I think I'm really starting to understand and get the hang of drawing a character's head at different angles (it's something I've always fudged).

Also I recolored a couple of my Howie Post panels to make them brighter. I think I went a little more gut instinct on the hot stuff panel.

Also I have a favor to ask of John if you have the time. I was wondering if you had a good doll with a long nose like a fox or an alligator that you can take pics of for me. The top cat and mr.jinx exercises are some of my favorites and I feel like I really learn from those

Oh lastly, another flintstones and yogi bgs that I copied. I realize the ones with linework in them are a lot harder.

  1. Those BGs are looking fantastic! How long does it take you to do each one? And are some done in Painter? Or are they all painted in gouache. If it's done in Painter are you using the eye dropping tool to get the colors right, or just picking them yourself?

    Keep up the good work!

PS: Your Jerry's look perfect. Sorry I can't think up any critiques.

  2. Hi Becky.

Thank you. All my BGs are done in photoshop. They take me between 30 mins and 1 hour to do. and yes I use the eyedropper tool for the colors, but I'm starting to wean myself off of it so I can learn the colors for reals.

You should do some BGs, you have such good control of challenging saturated colors, I'm sure they'd be beautiful
