analysis

I like this picture, hahahaha
naughty turtle...

Emotional Statement of the whole picture.

This bird chick is showing him his "goods" and the turtle seems to say: WHOA! what do we have here!

Turtle:
- Emotional Statemen.
The turtle is impressed, his eye has grown more than the normal. Something that it sees impresses it and he likes, the impression is agreeable for him. It has a light happy grimace.

- Visual Contrasts.
-The neck is very long, The turtle should have raised his head to be able to see the "feathers".
-head is small compared with the chest
-little hat compared with the head.
-BIG eye
-Clear silhouette

Birdy Chick:
-Emotional Statemen.
-the girl is flirting, there is no doubt of that, in fact the action and emotion of the turtle also is clear and direct.
-She knows what the turtle sees, but she doesn't demonstrate it.

Visual Statements:
-HUGE chest
-Small head compared to the body
-BIG hat compared with the head
-Her face is small
-Clear Silhouette

-Line of actions are opposed
-Birdy LOA is rounded
-Turtle LOA is more straight.

-There's some space between the characters to separate them, and lots around them.

- The features inside the characters are minimum
- there are lots of neg space around the features to see them

the eyes show the action very clear, the looks are direct.

here it comes the messy part!

1.- Lines of Action

After 8 attempts I could do them right (I think so...)

2.- General Forms 1st attempt

- The forms are too small!

2.- General Forms 2nd attempt

-the bird chick is better, the chest line has to be in another angle.
-the eye line has to be more down
-the chest has to be more big
-The forms on the turtle are still too small

2.- General Forms 3rd attempt

-The turtle is better, his shell has to be more big downward
- the back of the shell have another shape
-The head of the turtle has to be more big and more straight up.
-Now the chick have very big chest, has to be smaller

2.- General Forms 4th attempt

- The line of the chest in the girl is still wrong. Have to fix that
The rest of the mistakes seems to be minimal.
Now I can continue with the second level of forms.

TO BE CONTINUED...

  1. Your analysis is great - at last!

you left out that the turtle's pose is on a strong diagonal

your construction is again, trying to impose balls, where there aren't balls

construct the actual shapes in the original picture

The girl does not have a ball for a head

she has more of a thumb shape
