Like John said, is very hard stuff to do, so many details, soft angles, etc.
-The head is bigger and in another angle.
- The hand is bigger
- Bugs and the whole tree has to be more big.

Now I realize that I even out the sizes and I destroyed a little the contrasts in the original doodle of John
I'm gonna try it again
chao!
Nice job. I think that tree is up on a hill. That line to the right of Kaspar seems to be the grassline coming down from the tree roots.
ReplyDeleteNice Kaspar! Maybe he is a bit evened out, but it is hard to get the solidity while keeping the right humour from the original doodle. A subtle balance to strike. I should say, jolly nice job.
ReplyDeleteIf it was spot the difference, I would remark that he's missing his tail in yours!
Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's really hard to "maintain the guts" from the original doodle
my proportions are wrong, I have to keep the contrasts from the original drawing.
Chris: yeah.. I think you're right! I had a hard time trying to find out what was that line.
Chloe: Ups! I forgot the tail! hahahaha
closing all the open spaces like most cartoonists do
ReplyDeletecartoonists don't seem to see spaces, they see lines instead
we have to cure that
spaces are important for clarity, volume and a load of other things
