Howie Post trees by Paul

This are my first Howie Post trees from the last exercise:
This is really hard stuff!
I have a problem making the drawings too large, stretched.
Well,my proportions are really off, the spaces on the tree features are also wrong. I think that's because I been working with a letter paper format and the original drawing is in a square format. I have to keep that in mind while Im doing my drawings.

Here I'm making the whole drawing is stretched again.
I did the tree too thin and small, I also did the witch and the tree sizes too even.
I have a real problem with that. The witch is more little than the tree

Again, the drawing is too stretched. Look the big foreground stone! I've made them almost flat, I forgot the perspective on it.
I even out the sizes. In my drawing Hot size is reallyclose to the cut tree, and the size of the cut tree is really close to the black trees on the Background.
The trees on the background have to be more small because they are more distant .
I've made the space between the cut tree and the foliage of the back trees too big, which is not .

  1. Great job on the trees, Paul.

The same thing happens to me as far as scaling. I'm drawing on a larger sheet than you (10-1/2x12-1/2) and I'm finding myself wanting to fill the whole rectangular sheet though the scene I'm copying is square.
